The Need for A Place Called Home
Where are we going to live?
Those words can affect a family's entire trajectory in life. When a low to mid-income family have lost housing, it's difficult for them to acquire funds to find suitable shelter, especially for those living on fixed incomes. Many of these displaced families are hardworking, drug-free, and honest people. In Carroll County, these families often end up in extended-stay motels or tents with no way to take care of the bare essentials like cooking, doing laundry, or bathing. They have no place to Call Home. These families are often under-served by other non-profit agencies who may give them food items they can't cook without access to a kitchen. They can be denied access to monetary assistance because they make just above the threshold of financial requirements, while still not making enough to move out. The longer a family remains in this no-win cycle, the more unlikely they are to increase their level of education or financial capabilities. This in turn creates a drain on other non-profit, state, and locally funded resources. The introduction of COVID-19 has only made this problem worse in our community. One Body Many Members, presents our third annual fundraising gala, "A Place to Call Home''.

$300 provides one home-cooked meal delivered to approximately 80 families. For your generosity, your name or business name will be displayed on our social media platforms. You will also receive Two Buffet Dinners and One Bar Ticket.

$1,000 provides a homeless family a place to call home with basic furnishings. Your business name will be included in our newspaper writeup and in our radio spot. You will also receive a table for six guests at the gala event, which includes Six Buffet Dinners and One Bar Ticket PLUS a decadent dessert by Heaven in Your Home Catering.

Estate Sponsorship Opportunity: $5,000
$5,000 provides a homeless family with a fully furnished place to call home, including groceries. For your generosity, your name or business name will be displayed and linked to your website on our social media platforms and our website. Your business name will be included in our newspaper writeup and in our radio spot. You'll also receive Two Tables, which include Twelve Buffet Dinners and Two Bar Tickets. The highlight of this sponsorship level is a Gift Certificate for a Catered Three Course Meal, set up and served, for eight guests of your choosing IN YOUR OWN HOME, compliments of Heaven In Your Home Catering.

The Heart of
One Body, Many Members
​
As the owner of Heaven in Your Home catering, LaToya Gamble has always had a heart for feeding people's souls with a word from God and feeding their stomachs with amazing food. For the last four years, LaToya and a few volunteers have been providing food and other services to children, elderly, jobless and homeless families living in extended stay areas. The COVID-19 situation has severely increased the need here in Carrollton.
Every year, LaToya and volunteers from area churches and businesses have come together to serve full-on banquets - turkey, dressing and all the fixin's - at several extended stay locations on Thanksgiving Day. She also organizes an annual One Body fellowship event for churches of all faiths to come together for food, preaching and entertainment. In 2019, fifty children received Christmas gifts. Nearly every cent earned from Heaven in Your Home catering goes right back into supplies to feed those in need in Carrollton.
One Body, Many Members is a 501(c)(3) non-profit; and as such, allows LaToya to collect much needed funds to purchase food and other supplies for those that need them. 1 Corinthians 12:12 tells us, that though we are many members, we are all part of the same body of Christ. We are all commanded to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. LaToya's heart is that our entire community - churches, businesses, friends, families and others - can unite for a common cause to take care of each other. Her heart's desire is to truly see the love of Jesus Christ change lives and to see Him move miraculously!
